GENERAL INFO Overloaded and trimmed engines produce a lot of overpressure in the crankcase, which needs to be vented. Vapours from crankcase overpressure contain oil mist, which can dirty the engine and lower the octane rating if the mist is led back into the intake. A well-ventilated engine is not as likely to leak oil as poorly ventilated engine. NOTE As a filter for engine crankcase ventilation, for environmental reasons it should only be installed in the engine for car shows and competitions.
