LACQUER PAINT is a high-quality, non-yellowing lacquer paint intended for wood and metal surfaces as well as for woodwork and most substrates both indoors and outdoors. Contains rust inhibitor which makes it suitable for use in rustproofing painting iron. 0.75 l.
Gives a full-toned and durable surface with excellent coverage and an even gloss. The adapted viscosity makes it easy to apply on vertical surfaces. Contains active rustproofing substances that give a more basic form of rustproofing. If more than a temporary rustproofing is desired, prime the surface first with rustproofing primer. The metal paint gives an even and hard surface, also making it suitable for use in spray painting of woodwork indoors.
The wooden surface must be clean and dry. Wash, rinse and allow it to dry well. Any oil spillage is removed with a solvent. Untreated wood is to be primed with woodworking primer diluted with 10-20 % white spirit. Use filler to even out irregularities. Sand lightly. Carry out paint-rubbing with undiluted woodwork primer, intermediate sanding, paint-rub again and repeat until an even and smooth surface has been achieved. Wipe any dust off. Paint the topcoat at least twice with undiluted lacquer paint with at least 24 hours' drying time between coats. The lacquer paint shall normally not need to be stirred prior to use.
Metal substrates shall be properly cleaned, steel-brushed or sand-blasted. Any oil spillage to be washed off with a solvent. For iron surfaces, first apply a layer of rustproofing primer diluted with 20 % white spirit. Then prime using undiluted primer and top coat then surface with lacquer paint twice. Applied with a brush, lint-free roller or spray after diluting 10–20 % white spirit. It is important to rustproof directly after cleaning, so that corrosion does not get a foothold.
If not all the contents of the tin are used, replace the lid firmly and then store the tin upside-down. This ensures that any skin that might form will be at the bottom of the tin.
