– Last year was okay and we were quite happy with the numbers, but now we must accelerate the expansion, as the goal is to double the number of stores. We still have a lot to do, says Knut R. Svenningsen, CEO of Biltema Group.

Despite the hard times stores are facing today, Biltema continues to expand strongly with great success. New start-ups all around the Nordic countries are welcomed with open arms, especially in smaller towns. This, together with increased digital investments, shows that Biltema has ambitious goals.

Biltema employs more than 4,000 employees throughout the Nordic countries. Every year the company creates more than 300 new jobs and more than 1,000 seasonal jobs.

One of the keys to success is Biltema Café. In recent years, the business has developed into one of the largest café chains in Sweden. Among other things, they now serve 7.5 million sausages per year and 10,000 cups of coffee with a bun per day. With rising demand, the range has expanded. Today the café offers everything from meatballs with mash, pancakes and fresh sandwiches to coffee and ice cream.

In Sweden during 2019, Biltema will open stores in Avesta, Falköping, Nässjö and Lidköping.
